It was a dream of founder president of Ajayleela Special Teacher Training College Mrs. Sushila Bohra to open a teacher training college in the field of special education so trained manpower can be develop in the field of Visual Impairment. There was a high need to establish an Institute which can meet the demand of special education teachers in the field of Visual Impairment. Thus, the first batch of B.Ed. Special Education in Visual Impairment inaugurated by Mrs. Nirmala Meena, the Registrar, JNV University, Jodhpur on 10th August, 2009.
This is the first college which has started B.Ed special education course in Visual Impairment in Rajasthan. This college is affiliated with JNV University, Jodhpur and recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi. This is one year full time training programmed and intensive practical skills training is provided through out the programme e.g. Reading and writing of Braille, Orientation and Mobility, Daily living skills and training related to special equipments for the person with Visual Impairment.
